why article submission is important to promote website?
For those of you who still don’t know why submitting articles is so important, here is a simple explanation:-
Basically first you have to write an article (or get one written by a professional writer). The article should be an informational article in your area of expertise or the area of your business or should contain anything by which the reader will gain knowledge about a particular topic. At the bottom of the article you have to write something about yourself who in most case will be the author of the article and you can mention your business and even give the URL/Link to your website. You can even put links in the main article itself although its best not to since many article publishers don’t accept articles with links in the main body.
Now comes the important part. Once your article is complete you need to submit these articles to as many article directories as possible. Preferably the top article directories with lots of traffic, credibility and high page rank.
You must be asking yourself, ok I have done all that, now what? How is this going to help me. Well its simple. Say you have submitted your article to 100 article directories, all with high page rank and high traffic. Imagine each one gets only 1000 publishers visiting them to get content for their newsletters, ezines, websites, magazines etc. Mind you the top article directories get way more than 1000 publishers visiting them. In fact some cases it goes to hundreds of thousands but lets take 1000 just to take conservative figures. So that’s 100×1000=100,000 publishers viewing your article and considering putting it in their ezine etc and that with the link to your company website as they are not allowed to change any content of the article. Now each publisher has their own captive audience for their ezine or whatever. Some may have only 100 subscribers, some could have over 100,000 subscribers. Now you do the math. Multiply the number of total subscribers with the total number of publishers who have taken your article with your website link. Now can you imagine how many people are getting exposed to your website with your website link/URL in front of them, clickable. Do you think that could make a difference to your online business :-) Now do you understand why there are so many webmasters, business owners who are using article submission services to promote their website or business?
Mind you, its our duty to mention here that not all article directories are going to accept your article or not all publishers are going to publish your article. The final figures will totally depend on what is the content of your article, what is the category, will it help the readers of the article or will it enhance the publishers ezine, website etc. Best is to write an informational article with your company link at the bottom along with the author information rather than writing a marketing article full with information of only your company. That would turn off a lot of article directories or publishers. You could also use professional writers to write good informative articles to have better acceptance percentage. The better the acceptance, more exposure to your website.
About search engine placements, most search engines like google, msn, yahoo, use something called as backlink popularity as a measure to rank websites when someone searches for a keyword. Now take the figures given above about the number of publishers who will put your article in their ezines, directories, websites etc with your link on each article as they are not allowed to change any content of the article. Imagine how many links you are going to get back to your website from these article directories, ezines, websites etc. This is by far the best way to promote your website and honestly the best way to credibly promote your website since your target audience would view an article and not be viewing an advertisement. Article marketing creates a much better impression on your target market than traditional advertising.
